IN THIS LESSON
Agenda
Check for completed/expanded definitions of communication (completion grade)
Roll question to reinforce terms: Find an “endoxa” statement” (quickly) and be ready to read it; students can also share why they see this as endoxa (this is about the ethos of the source). Teacher can pick one that we could try to move dialectially to “deixis”.
Nota Bene: ENDOXA CAN BE ABOUT THINGS THAT ARE ABOVE REASON (theology connection–faith/doctrinal knowledge that does not contradict reason, but yet transcends it)
Finish anything from Class 1:
Trivium overview
Remind them to read and sign syllabus with parents: jpeg of signed sheet in folder
Start Summer reading “essay”— (GIVE STUDENTS PROMPT AND DISCUSS/QUESTIONS)
Homework
Communication definition/reflection on three questions: finish up: take one of your answers to the three questions and try to raise it from one level (doxa, endoxa) to the level up (endoxa, deixis).
Have syllabus signed (jpeg in folder)
